The RME-45B, by Radio Manufacturing Engineers, is a single conversion general coverage receiver covering 550 KHz to 33 MHz in 6 ranges. The IF is 455 KHz. The ham bands are marked on a separate bandspread dial. Its 10 tubes include two IF amp stages, a tuned RF amp stage, and a voltage regulator for the oscillator.

The RME-45 is one of the better post WWII receivers produced for the radio amateur in 1946. This set had quite a few innovations in electronics derived from wartime experience. Voltage controlled and temperature compensated capacitors were to improve frequency stability.

I first became aware of this model about 25 years ago, when I was purchasing another old radio from a local collector and saw one that he had in his hoard. What a dial!
