A roads policing unit (RPU), or a similarly named unit in some forces, is the specialist road traffic police unit of a British police force.

Police in the United Kingdom use a wide range of operational vehicles, including compact cars, powerful estates and armoured police carriers. 2022年9月30日 · RPU officers are responsible for patrolling the main motorways and large roads throughout the territorial police force area. In addition to their general road policing duties, they assist with various operations aimed at improving road safety and are also at the forefront in tackling vehicle crime and the criminal use of the roads network.

Everyone is expected to use the RPU: Uniforms sheet they have at their disposal appropriately, so if anyone is caught wearing the wrong Uniforms without authorisation, it’ll result in a Metropolitan Police Service Punishment. Hats / Helmets are optional.

GMP also operates a Road Policing Unit (RPU) responsible for all traffic policing in the county, which includes over 280 miles (450 km) of motorway. GMP RPU utilises a variety of vehicles, each with its own purpose.

2022年4月16日 · From what I’ve observed, most forces will have a standard vehicle for their panda car - an Astra, a Corsa, a 308 etc. But whilst some forces, such as West Yorkshire, also have a fairly standardised RPU fleet (5-series estate), others seem to have a right mix up - an Impreza, a couple of BMWs, maybe a Lancer, an RS6 or an Octavia VRS or whatever.
