Raseborg Castle served as the administrative center in Western Uusimaa during the medieval period. The history of this royal castle includes thousands of stories with themes ranging from a spellbinding tale of love and the shipwreck of a treasure ship to the collapse of beer cellars and the end of the castle's era of glory.

Beer has always been a part of life in Raseborg Castle. Due to the large consumtion of beer, the castle had it's own brewery. The hops that was used for brewing beer still grows outside the castle walls.

Raseborg Sausage is a product for gourmands. The sausage is made from lamb in medieval fashion with a high content of meat and spicing in accordance to old recepies. The meat is produced locally.
