I've watched RAV Pan videos on YouTube and explored the virtual player. If any of you have a RAV Pan, I'd love your thoughts on it, especially compared to handpans from other manufacturers.

2023年7月31日 · Rav vasts are more versatile in sound projection- harmonic,overtones etc. in a nut shell- it’s great for open/live playing. More emotions can be conveyed from the playing. The frog drums are more contained and consistent with tone and volume- minor or no sound editing needed if used in a sound recording.

2021年1月31日 · Also note that the RAV Vast and a traditional tongue drum are two different beasts. The Vast is closer in sound to a handpan, with a similar saucer shape and metal thickness. Traditional tongue drums are usually thicker and welded to be a united piece.

2020年9月26日 · I have both a Rav and handpan, so I'll chime in. Since you're abroad I think the Rav is a good choice. At home, I play probably 90% handpan and 10% Rav. Handpan requires more finesse, and allows for more nuanced playing. That said, they're overall quite similar - if you don't NEED the specific handpan sound, then the Rav fits the bill.

2022年5月18日 · Integral is a common minor scale and the RAV version is commonly called Equinox. It’s a bit less popular for tutorials, though. B RUS is unique to RAV, and not even the most popular among RAVs, so it’s not as common. B RUS was my first scale and I’ve since had 16 of RAV’s scales on hand at one point or another.
