The pack is, as simple as it is, an amazing piece of kit and originally developed for the Parachute Landing Troops (VDV). Here is one of my three backpacks I own. This one is pretty used and shows a bunch of marks and repairs.

2009年12月16日 · The Rd54 is an iconic VDV piece of kit. The RD stand for rugzak (roogzak/ruck) desant (the D in VDV). This is the ruck used by VDV and MorPeh, while the rest of the army was issued vesh-meshok as their rucks. It should not be confused as a vest or rig.
