Many agate marbles have subsurface moons because of their extensive use as shooters. There are many machine-ground Agates available. These are modern.

2014年1月1日 · Opaque marbles of colored opalescent glass are referred to collectively as Flinties. Brown is the most common, followed by yellow, green, red, and blue. These marbles are actually semi-opaque and have a distinctive orangish glow when held to a light. Later examples have tiny open ends at each pole, called “fisheyes”.

Agate marbles are handmade marbles made of carnelian agate. The old ones are identifies as having tiny hand faceted marks across the surface of the marble. The facets can be easily recognized as a flash of a light source reflection as you rotate the marble in your hand.

Akro Agate produced two types of marbles that were very similar to the American Cornelian (brick) by M.F. Christensen. The first was the Cornelian, which contained a dark red translucent base with white swirls. Though the red in this glass appears to be oxblood, it is not.
