Red Crow (c. 1830 – 28 August 1900), also known as Captured the Gun Inside, Lately Gone and Sitting White Bull, was a Kainai leader. [1] His native name Mi’k ai’stoowa (Blackfoot: ᒍᘁ ᖳᖱᐧᒪᖷ) [1] was sometimes romanized as Mékaisto or Mi’kasto or incorporated as John Mikahestow.

2013年8月27日 · Red Crow was born in 1830 near the confluence of the Oldman and St Mary's rivers, in the heart of the Kainai hunting grounds. He earned his grown-up name Mi’k ai’stoowa, or Red Crow, when he first went to war as a teenager.

Red Crow was a dynamic leader who maintained control over the Bloods during a period in which other Indians were often caught killing cattle from nearby ranches to supplement government rations.

His film debut was in Renegades (1989), in which he played "Red Crow", the Lakota Sioux father of Hank Storm, played by Lou Diamond Phillips. Additional film roles include "Chief Ten Bears" in Dances with Wolves (1990), and the "shaman" for the singer Jim Morrison in Oliver Stone 's The Doors (1991). [ 3 ]
