2018年6月24日 · Apple does not replace the battery in an iPad Air 2, instead they give you another (refurbished) unit. Apple charges $99.00 for the service. Since Best Buy is an authorized Apple Service Repair Provider, they should offer the same service and price.

I know that iOS updates induce massive runtime drops, I’ve experienced a significant drop after Apple forced my 9.7-inch iPad Pro into iOS 12, but the battery actually dying on an iPad is unheard of for me before this case.

2024年12月10日 · Apple doesn’t even replace the battery in the iPad Air 2; they swap it out for one with a new battery. And there are good reasons for that; changing the battery involves disturbing a LOT of different components and may require full re-calibration of the display. See what they can do, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

2008年4月4日 · To be honest, the 5th gen often feels snappier than my iPad Pro 9.7 with A9X. Likely because the Pro 9.7 is working off a backup carried over all the way from the iPad 2 (via iTunes). Alas, the A8X-based Air 2 is a touch too laggy for my taste.

2011年1月5日 · The guy at the store said that because the iPad doesn’t have screws they don’t replace the batteries. I asked about the $99 battery replacement and then he said that they could do that only if the battery tests bad. So he did a diagnostic which of course said the battery was fine. He told us the only option was to replace the iPad.

2024年2月8日 · @Born Again, as mentioned, the battery health has to be below 80%, as measured by Apple and not third party applications. Also, your 2018 iPad Pro is now vintage, so good luck. I tried getting my battery replaced for my iPad Air 2 several years ago.
