RGB-Pi is great. But, I remember when I wanted to purchase their cable. 1) their purchase process was convoluted. 2) I joined their Discord server and asked about Pi2SCART compatibility. Next thing I know is they kicked me out. I was ready to buy their cable, but that experience was the end of me talking about RGB-Pi, until this thread again 😛

2022年2月22日 · The easiest would be to purchase the RGB-Pi SCART cable and then an RGB SCART to Component transcoder like Retrotink's RGB2COMP. The cheapest would be to get a VGA666 and edit it per this post, get the proper adapters and then Linuxbot3000's RGB transcoder from his eBay site for half the price of the RGB2COMP.

2022年2月23日 · The RGB-PI comes as single unit. It's JAMMA or SCART (I'm ignoring the 'plus'). If by "built" you mean assembled to a PI - it just plugs in. If by "built" you mean that the sd card is already setup - It's extremely simple to setup the software. It takes just a few minutes. Games can be found all over the place. It's easier than ever.

2024年1月3日 · Recalbox RGB Dual. Unfortunately, the Raspberry Pi 5 has lost its jack, and with it its PWM driver. According to the foundation, a PWM driver may appear again in the near future, but in the meantime, the Recalbox RGB Dual will not be compatible with the Raspberry Pi 5, unless you have a USB sound card with a jack output and an external amplifier.

VGA666/Pi2SCART/RGB-Pi has <insert visual issue> Unfortunately, I don't have a CRT monitor or display with a VGA or SCART port. I've changed the scripts and boot configs to the best of my abilities, tested all the parts through my RetroTINK using the SCART/VGA666 timings and configs -- but need YOUR help to test them on actual monitors!

2022年2月21日 · Also playing with the new RGB-Pi OS4 at the moment and loving it, especially the Naomi arcade support 👍 I‘ve tired recalbox crt with the rgb-pi but I found the system very buggy and only ended up using it to play old Animes from my Nas. I hope in the futre there will be an easy way of launching Kodi from within RGB-Pi OS

2023年8月28日 · You connect the Raspberry to the CRT TV with the RGB-Pi cable, boot up the system they also made and voila - pixel perfect emulation with real, hardware RGB video. The whole emudriver business is just too much hassle for no real benefit in retro emulation, because the Raspberry can easily emulate all the systems I want and that are problematic ...

Apparently 2022 is the year since Recalbox and now RGB-Pi OS/4 support RGB out via all the Pi "hats" and adapters that the previous Pi's have enjoyed. Here's to hoping RetroPie will get proper RGB support soon. Hope this helps.
