During the First World War (1914-18), the RHA was expanded to meet the ever-growing demand for artillery support. In 1924, the three artillery branches were merged back into a single regiment, although the RHA continued to retain their separate badge and identity.

World War One. At some point at the beginning of the 20th century the Battery was designated F Battery RHA. In WW1 they were part of 14th Brigade RHA which in turn was part of 7th Divisional Artillery. During Oct 1914 they were engaged in the Battle of Ypres.

2007年7月11日 · RHA batteries were brigaded with cavalry units. With their lighter 13-pounder QF Mk1 guns, they were trained to pull the guns at a gallop and across open country. There is a dramatic clip of film of a RHA gun-team in training in France in 1918 which features the gun being drawn over a bank and into a field.

2004年3月7日 · In November 1918 16 Bde RHA consisted of A,Q, and U Batteries RHA, each armed with six 18 pdr guns, and was serving with the Fourth Army in France. This meant that it was a reinforcing unit which could be deployed anywhere in the Fourth Army's sector to add strength to the artillery corps and or divisional artillery for a particular operation.
