Purpose: To assess the performance of the Antibody Prevalence in Chinese Patients with Epilepsy and Encephalopathy (APE 2 -CHN) and Response to Immunotherapy in Chinese Patients with Epilepsy and Encephalopathy (RITE 2 -CHN) scores in Chinese patients with epilepsy of unknown etiology.

2022年7月30日 · We assessed the performance of a pediatric adaptation RITE 2 (P-RITE 2) and APE 2 (P-APE 2) scores. The median P-APE 2 score in the subgroup with and without antibody positivity were 7 and 2 (p <0.0001). The sensitivity and specificity values of the P-APE 2 score ≥6 were 94% and 92%.

Status epilepticus was significantly more frequent in antibody-negative patients (p<0.01). Among the items of the RITE2 score, early initiation of immunotherapy correlated with a good treatment response (p=0.001), whereas a cancer history was significantly more common among non-responders (p<0.01).
