First Infusion: Initiate infusion at a rate of 50 mg/hr. In the absence of infusion toxicity, increase infusion rate by 50 mg/hr increments every 30 minutes, to a maximum of 400 mg/hr.
1000mg (1g) of Rituximab is given as an infusion on days 0 and 14. In exceptional circumstances (e.g. very low body weight), the dose may be reduced to 500mg. Some patients will receive 1g Rituximab every 6 months as maintenance treatment. Infusions may be deferred at doctor’s discretion due to infection or low white cell count.
