RoboTuna - Wikipedia
The RoboTuna is a robotic fish project involving a series of robotic fish designed and built by a team of scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the US. The project started in 1993.
RoboTuna | Biomimetic Principles and Design - MIT OpenCourseWare
Built to simulate the action of a fish, the RoboTuna was designed by engineers at MIT to see if a robot submarine could mimic the incredibly efficient way tuna swim. The metallic tuna proved to use less energy and to be more maneuverable than other robotic submarines.
Robotuna is first of new 'genetic' line - MIT News
1994年9月21日 · Consider the fish: highly maneuverable and an effortless swimmer, this animal 160 million years in the making is superbly adapted to its watery environs. Now, in work that could lead to miniature submarines with similar attributes, MIT engineers have developed the first robotic version of nature's piscine wonder.

Robotics and power measurements of the RoboTuna
We developed an automated calibration routine for the position and load goad sensors, using the motor encoders and supplied torque to classify the built system. Characteristics of the mechanism and sensor performance are now easily, quickly and routinely monitored.
