LLAMA - NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL)
What has four legs, can walk in any direction, is nearly as fast as a human, and can carry equipment? The innovative Legged Locomotion and Movement Adaptation (LLAMA). Still under development, LLAMA could be used on rough, uneven terrain, and in other challenging environments not suited for robots with wheels or tracks.
Robotics in Natural Environments - LAAS/CNRS
Lama is a Marsokhod rover built by VNII Transmach in St Petersburg, Russia. It was bought by Alcatel Space Industries in 1996, and has been lent to LAAS since. Most of our developments and demonstrations have been integrated within this rover (by the way, Lama stands for "Lavochkin Alcatel Model Autonomous"). Evolution
