2020年8月9日 · I've gone through a few NOS rolls-- "mid grade" Amperex (too sharp/ trebly), Radiotechniques (these were really nice!) in my RP7, til I settled on what I have now and am not changing anytime soon. RCA Black Plates 5814A as main, Tung Sol black glass as followers. Sparkly, ever so slightly creamy, rich, but not at all bloated. Smooth.

2020年7月13日 · I have an RP-7 and am very happy with it. I am no less happy because of the appearance of the RP-9. A look at what information Rogue provides (which does not include a look inside the RP-9) seems to show these units are identical save for the tubes, and whatever change in circuitry is needed to accommodate them.

2023年6月26日 · One thing that might surprise you after using the RP7-- THe RP9 has noticeably lower gain, perhaps due to the lower gain factor of the 6H30 tubes and/or the overall circuit design. I find I need to turn things up more on the volume of the RP9 vs the RP7, but this is not a problem at all. Just don't freak out that there's a problem, totally normal.

2023年10月3日 · The RP7 was actually too sweet and rolled off, too polite too. Burnished and slightly veiled and again did not respond well to NOS tubes. The Rp5 is right in the middle and would be a perfect match with the Parasound.

2022年5月13日 · These are defnitely interesting and out of the norm for American black plates. I have a pair of the Lansdale 12au7 and used them for a while the Rogue RP7 I used to have. There's definitely much more top end energy than any black plate I've used. If ones system veers towards the "dark" these would be good tubes.

2021年4月15日 · Can't do much better than the Conrad-Johnson Premier 17LS2 without spending some serious money. Just one monolithic triode between input and output (two 6922 tubes per channel with all four sections wired in parallel), along with some relay-switched Vishay resistors for the volume control, and Teflon film capacitors.

2021年11月13日 · Works great, is now dead silent, but in the original spot on top of the RP7 the Lokius had slight hum. I had to find an alternate location off to the side of the pre, but all is good now. My original Loki is now in my headphone chain leading to my Valhalla 2, which drives Sennheiser 650s.
