Originally built as a GP7 for the Detroit, Toledo, and Ironton as DTI 960, this Geep has turned a lot of miles since its manufacture in January 1953. It was acquired and rebuilt in 1973 by the Illinois Central at their Paducah, KY shops into a GP10, becoming IC 8049.
