My machine heats the water to 240 degrees and leaves the carpet drying in 20 to 30 minutes. I don't charge $50 per room either. $99 for 5 rooms is what I charge. A rug doctor is $35 to rent plus chemicals are way over priced.

I have used the machine about five times in the last few years. Follow the directions carefully. Use the appropriate pre-treatment for stains or heavy traffic area.

They give you a great deal on the machine, but charge you an arm and leg for the bottle of cleaner. As far as the Bissel, it uses a 2x formula. The 8 ounce bottle is around $11.99.
