Mini collection which spans several other mainline segments consisting of castings designed by the late Ryu Asada; each casting in this series features Ryu's "RYU" logo somewhere in the tampo design or some derivative of his name, such as the word "ASADA".

Ryu's Rides is a special series within the 2022 Hot Wheels Mainline paying tribute to Ryu Asada, a Hot Wheels designer who passed away the previous year. The series overlaps with other Mainline Mini Collection series.

Ryu Asada was a Japanese Hot Wheels designer who worked at Mattel from 2004 to 2021 and oversaw the design of cars in the basic $1 mainline lineup as a Designer Project Lead, taking over from Jun Imai. Born in Osaka, he pursued a degree at the Art Center College of Design after emigrating to the United States.

2022年1月22日 · Ryu's ride's is a line dedicated to the late Ryu Asada who unfortunately passed away due to cancer at 42, he worked as a designer for both matchbox and hotwheels. If you look in the back of the 944, you'll see a pair of stethoscopes. Ryu threw those in in honor of his cancer doctor, who drove a 944. Keep on keeping on.

The Matchbox Subaru SVX has a license plate that says " Asada" as a tribute to him. He's responsible for a ton of really good models over the last 15 years or so. What they said, lol.

2023年7月18日 · The 1994 NSX is red with a pace car livery, tinted windows, a black interior, and a matte black base. It rides on Real Rider wheels with 5-spoke modern rims. Special features of the NSX are its real working headlights, taillights, and flashing roof lights. The car comes packaged in a cylindrical acrylic case with a decorative outer box.
