David (Dirk Benedict) is hired by Dr. Stoner (Martin) as a lab assistant after his previous lab assistant mysteriously went missing. As the youth falls in love with Stoner's daughter, Kristina (Heather Menzies), the doctor begins injecting David with some king of snake serum.

SSSSSSS (1973) is the best and most fascinating of his handful of SciFi pictures. Oddly enough, it feels like a Made For TV movie; but one that's punctuated by a few shock moments and a surprisingly strong pedigree.

Sssssss begins with a mysterious scene involving two men exchanging something hidden inside a sort of caged crate. From inside that crate, we hear a strange, inhuman moaning. The man taking the crate appears to be some sort of carnival barker. The man giving the crate, however, is the scientist Dr. Carl Stoner, a snake specialist.

Strother Martin and Dirk Benedict star in this eerie tale of a respected snake expert who masks a frightening desire to transmute a man into a king cobra. Realizing that his new lab assistant, David (Benedict), is the perfect specimen, the demented doctor begins administering to him injections of "immunization serum."
