2009年2月21日 · S46B20R is physically longer than the S34B20L so it is likely that will not fit in your battery holder. Also, the battery terminal polarity is reversed (this is the meaning of R vs. L) so to make the battery work, you have to mount it so that the terminals are adjacent to the fender.

2012年5月5日 · It looks like a model # on the top. S34B20L. Any guesses as to when this battery was replaced or is this an original Japan battery? It looks like the replacement was a good call no matter what! 5 years by my guess or 11 years if original.

2024年12月30日 · As I understand the 12V starts the car so Im not sure why it would cause the gas engine to shut down once started. Waiting for obd reader and the local Toyota joint priced the s34b20L battery at 425$ tax incl (not installed) so I'm a bit hesitant to buy it. 2009年1月23日 · Classic Prius has S34B20L. Same physical size as 2G base model, but terminal polarity is reversed. This battery was replaced by the Panasonic S55D23L battery in a TSB. Since the Panasonic is much larger, a new battery bracket and cabling are also required. I understand that S34B20L is no longer available from US Toyota dealer parts depts.

2020年6月18日 · 2. We're not 100% certain, but we think that this may have been the aux original battery. I'm the original owner, and we don't remember ever replacing the aux battery. in the almost 18 years we've had the car. It says S34B20L on the top and GS on the side.

2015年7月9日 · The Gen 1's original 12V battery was S34B20L. It was so under capacity that Toyota had a TSB (EL014-03) to increase the 12V capacity. The TSB was possible because there was enough room for it. The TSB called for replacing the battery tray and both the positive and the negative terminals to accommodate the larger S55D23L battery. Sound familiar?

2020年9月23日 · Update: called the guy, and he explained what the deal is. I forget the exact terms he used, but he was very straightforward, and said that the batteries are new and unused, but were cycled out of retail stock because they were more than six months old (from a bit of googling, this seems to check out).

The man working thought it was good, as his device told him it had 100% life and charge, and 190 cca. When he first hooked up his load tester, it read 12.8V, and then after he tested it, he got a reading of 12.5V.
