The Re 460, popularly known as the Lok 2000, are a class of modern four-axle electric locomotives of Swiss Federal Railways (SBB CFF FFS), similar to the Re 465 of BLS. Although designed as multipurpose locomotives, the Re 460 are now used only for hauling long-distance passenger trains in Switzerland (one service to Konstanz ).

Auslöser für diese Erkenntnis bei den Schweizerischen Bundesbahnen SBB war die nagelneue bei der damaligen Bodensee-Toggenburg-Bahn getestete Lokomotive Re 4/4 für die Privatbahnen. Diese Maschine war technisch viel weiter als die Re 4/4 IV der Staatsbahnen. Dabei stand IV freilich gemäss bösen Zungen für die Invalidenversicherung.

BLS has started to modernise its Class Re 465 locomotives, which, after about a quarter of a century of operation, will be adapted to another 15 years of service, around until 2040. Between 1994 and 1997, 18 Class Re 465 locomotives were produced by SLM and ABB/Adtranz.

The modifications made for BLS include higher starting tractive effort by having individual axle control instead of the individual bogie control on the Re460.
