SBD GP16 #4634 was built October 1956 as Seaboard Air Line GP9 #1957; later re# SCL 1031, then sent to Tampa for GP16 rebuild program. Became CSX 1734, left roster and became YKR #1734.

These GP16 locomotives will be manufactured with finely molded parts that have been designed to reproduce railroad specific details. All locomotives are factory equipped with an ESU LokSound sound decoder or an ESU LokPilot non-sound DCC decoder.

Six former Clinchfield Geeps were outsourced to ICG/Paducah for rebuilding prior to startup of the Uceta (former ACL shop in Tampa) GP16 program. Although listed on most SBD and CSX rosters as GP16s, these six units were identical to other ICG/Paducah GP11 rebuilds.

Seaboard System Paint – 7 GP16’s were repainted into the SBD paint scheme bringing the total number of GP16’s to 18. The 7 repaints were: 4628, 4634, 4740, 4758, 4760, 4770, 4794.
