2024年10月4日 · Agreed. I recently watched Prehistoric Planet in HDR and Planet Earth 3 in SDR, and in that case, the SDR looked more "film-like" and the HDR looked more real. But HDR sometimes seems to be mastered to pop--an extreme example is the ultra-vivid content on TVs displayed in stores--and that's pretty far from what reality looks like.

2024年8月3日 · these are 2 different color gamuts, so sdr cannot be "tweaked" to look like hdr as I thinks was mentioned here. main differences I found on most cases : sdr is sometimes brighter, so it might be easier to prefer it . hdr might be dimmer but has better detail and contrast. here are screens from "13 hours" , "mad max" 4k hdr (top) 1080p sdr (bottom):

2024年12月30日 · Currently I am running a 1080p SDR projector (Sony HW65ES) with a Linux HTPC using MPV as player (and which maps HDR to SDR). Watching 4k movies works very well with this setup (compared to watching 4k movies on a devices such as Nvidia Shield or Zidoo Z9X Pro, where 4k movies with HDR/DV will look gray and dull).

2024年3月2日 · When you activate HDR rendering, the game ends up looking a bit over-contrasted (even in SDR) so I recommend modifying the typical SK HDR profiles: Spoiler: Special K HDR profiles.
