January 05, 2024 - As an industry first, Continental has integrated its latest Cross Domain High-Performance Computer (HPC) into a car to demonstrate the capabilities of the software-defined vehicle (SDV) at the CES 2024.

What is an SDV? The electrical architecture of an SDV is fundamentally different from that of a conventional vehicle. SDVs consist of one or more high-performance computers (HPC) and multiple zonal controllers and their application layer is separated from the hardware layer by a vehicle operating system (middleware).

Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) is the next evolutionary stage in vehicle development. Vehicles already have to process up to 150 million lines of code.
