If it happens, I suggest you to perform DISM scan by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved. Windows corruption errors may prevent Windows updates and service packs from installing.

When you want to run sfc /scannow now, you have to run it in " elevated commmand prompt. " Follow these steps : Start button > in the search box, type cmd > look up to top left, right click at cmd.exe > click Run As Administrator > now you are in " elevated command prompt " > at the flashing prompt enter sfc /scannow > Enter key.
