2019年2月4日 · The SGI Vault M is an external SCSI disk enclosure based on the Indigo 2 chassis, and uses the Indigo 2 PSU to power the disks inside. It achieves PSU stability by presenting 1 Ohm of resistance on the +5V rail, for 25W of power draw.

2022年5月17日 · Ignoring the +8v/-8v supply provided by the SGI port, and using a charge pump (max232) starting from a single 5v rail to re-create the split signal levels seems rather awkward. Also, unless I'm missing something in the SGI docs, it seems to specify +/-5v for the signal levels, while max232 will try to go higher than that, typically to +/-8v ...

2019年2月8日 · Hello, today in PSU 101 we'll take a quick look at a common issue: PSUs for SGI Iris Indigos. There are two versions of the Indigo, the R3000 and the R4000 which correspond to the version of the MIPS CPU in each. They have completely different motherboards and gfx, so the power requirements are different as well.
