2021年1月22日 · Vortex Razor 1-6x is also a great choice, but mine is so heavy (non-E model) that it only balances on an otherwise lightweight rifle. Still my number 2 pick for a SHTF optic, and I may feel different if I had the lighter E model. Just bought a Trijicon TR25 1-6x off the EE, so I'll be evaluating it as a primary SHTF optic once it arrives.

2016年1月6日 · IMO a good "BCM, DD, LMT, Colt, etc" 16" AR is a great all around rifle for SHTF. I prefer mid-length gas systems over carbines that's just a personal preference, also get you a good sling, a light, magazines and ammo. I would recommend saving for a quality Red Dot "Aimpoint, Meprolight, Trijicon" buy once, cry once!!

2019年6月30日 · Regarding the idea of having a rifle for "SHTF." I'm trying to figure out how to consolidate my preferred ammo with my preferred rifle. Currently I have a sbr'd DD Mk18 rifle with a can. My 'go to' ammo has been the 77gr TMK round, which, under 200 yards, tracks well with M193 spec ammo (lately Wolf Gold, but I have IMI as well).

But the features are common. 1) Commonly available ammunition that is easily reloadable, 2) powerful enough to meet >90% of use needs.
