2021年6月20日 · Isn't Yoshi being controllable as a mount enough for him to count as playable? It's not a matter of being lazy, it's about console resources. The game would probably start to chug if you had 150 Hammer Bros. on screen at once, all throwing multiple hammers.

Miyamoto also considers Yoshi's Island to be a 'mainline' title, though it is often left off of lists by Nintendo that talk about the series. In a similar vain Wario Land and Captain Toad have been included occasionally in fan-lists I've seen, due to their close ties to Super Mario Land and 3D World, respectively.
