SMN and SCH are difficult to glam for sure. I tend to like the Allagan and High Allagan books myself. I know some people really don't like books as main hands but I think it adds a nice unique flavor to the job.

Command "/petsize all small" will make SMN summons smaller (a lot smaller)

Balance becomes most relevant when the difference between points of comparison is smaller than the difference in player performance, and for a game as tightly balanced as FFXIV, that means the absolute top end. Making 2/3 of a role unviable there is not good balance.

I've been playing FFXI recently, and I picked up the SMN. While looking at SMN summons in FFXI I started to wonder about the new abilities that are likely to come in Dawntrail.
