According to Chewiki, this is a pretty common YTP gag where a word (like "Such") is reversed halfway, creating a sound like "sus" or "sos." Apparently " Captain Rescue gets a Slim Pack of Doublemint Gum " was the poop which started the "sus" joke, and it just took off from there.

When YouTube appeared, these very early YTPs were posted to it.
