SPE Calgary Section Young Professionals is a vibrant group of Young Professionals that seek to engage junior members, foster growth in the society and develop future leaders in the petroleum industry through continuing education, professional development and by offering opportunities to expand industry networks.

The 2025 SPE Young Professionals Symposium aims to provide an excellent opportunity for young graduates and job seekers to learn about different career options, network with potential employers, and increase their chances of getting hired. An array of prolific companies will be present during the symposium to participate in the career fair.

The Young Professionals Committee (YPC) is responsible for supporting young professional members (professional members under the age of 36) by developing programs and initiatives that will have a specific benefit to those at early stages of their career.

Encourage Young Professionals, 35 years old and younger, to become actively involved in SPE activities in order to give the “young” a voice within SPE. Promote young professionals within SPE, and SPE to young professionals .

Young Professionals is an organization underlying SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers), and is working as a networking agent to enhance the social bond between young engineers under 35 years in different oil&gas- and service companies within all diciplines.

Beyond the Borders (BtB) is a common initiative of Young Professionals across borders and SPE Sections born in 2018 as a collaboration between 3 countries (SPE France, Italy, and Romania) with other countries joining them later.
