The Texas State Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists connects students with professional journalists in the field, provides a community of learning outside of the classroom, allows students to attend SPJ conventions and represents the students of the school of Mass Communication.

We are excited to announce that Texas State won Region 8 Student Chapter of the Year for 2012-2013, over all other schools in Texas and Oklahoma. Our goal this year is to not only take home that title again, but to win the National Student Chapter of the year.

2018年10月15日 · Greetings, SPJ members! The Texas State SPJ student chapter will be sponsoring a #MCWeek18 event Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Old Main 320. The session, titled "Diversity over Division: Covering Race Relations" will feature reporters from the San Antonio Express-News, Truthout.org and the founder of HBCU College Game Day.

The Texas State SPJ chapter had already won the Regional Chapter of the Year award when the national designation was announced at the national Society of Professional Journalists conference in Tampa, Fla., September 13.
