SQQQ works by inversing and multiplying the daily performance of QQQ. It doesn't move on its own, supply and demand do not affect the price like they would a regular stock. If QQQ goes up 1%, SQQQ goes down 3%. If QQQ goes down 1%, SQQQ goes up 3%. So it doesn't really make sense to analyse SQQQ like this.

Mar 4, 2021 · There are 3 inverse proshare funds (PSQ -1x, QID -2x, and SQQQ -3x). PSQ will move equal but opposite to the nasdaq. Ie nasdaq +2%, PSQ will be -2%. QID is leveraged to move 2x, so ~4% in the previous example and SQQQ is 3x leveraged so ~6%.

TQQQ is a triple levered long position - moves 3x in the same direction. These are both done with derivatives with tracking only on a daily basis.

SQQQ can be used mainly as a hedge for any pullbacks in QQQ. If QQQ (nasdaq) goes down then SQQQ will go up in value. TA looks like a double top, so a minor pullback in weeks to come, maybe. With interest rates set to go down next year then the market could shoot up. If you cant short stock then you could use SQQQ to profit IF the Nasdaq goes down.

The SQQQ is more like a swing trade during the bull market.. Also most people that I know accumulate the SQQQ & hold it all the way through a bear market. I think it is a great idea if it helps you reach your financial goals.

Honestly, just eliminate SQQQ, its not worth the hassle. Just do a good job of TQQQ trading, Look for some other signals for entry, do a lot of backtesting. You could also look at other MA crosses and see how they go. Keep in mind you are going to find different kinds of downtrends, very minor ones <5%, intermediate ones <10% and bear markets >15%.

For SQQQ to generate that kind of stock growth, you'd need the market to go strong negative as a whole and hold that bear market for some time, say several months, consistently. Right now there are no drivers for that kind of trend, actually the opposite.
