The native Johto Pokédex in Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver is almost identical to the original games. Strangely, it adds the evolutions Yanmega, Ambipom, Lickilicky, Tangrowth and Mamoswine, but not some other evolutions (e.g. Electivire) or baby Pokémon (e.g. Wynaut).

The Elite Four in HeartGold & SoulSilver are positioned within the Indigo Plateau in Kanto. However, despite their positioning, you need to get all 8 Johto gym badges in order to access them. Once you have the 8 badges, you face a decent challenge. The first Elite Four member you will battle is the new Elite Four member Will.

In Heart Gold & Soul Silver, you have the ability to track their location via the PokéGear's Map card. The best idea is to get to a route which connects to another route and walk between them until any of the Pokémon.

Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver are remakes of the original Gold & Silver games released in 1999 with further aspects which were introduced in Crystal in 2000. These games are set in the Johto & Kanto regions and were released in Japan in September 2009.

HeartGold and SoulSilver take place in the Johto and Kanto region of the franchise's fictional universe, which features special creatures called Pokémon. Like all the paired games in the Pokémon series, HeartGold & SoulSilver each include Pokémon that cannot be obtained in the alternate version. To obtain Pokémon missing from your version you need to trade with someone who has the opposite version. A list of the Pokémon you can only find in either HeartGold or SoulSilver.

After you have defeated Red on top of Mt. Silver, you can obtain an orb from Mr. Pokémon - the Blue Orb in HG or the Red Orb in SS. These allow you to capture Kyogre or Groudon repsectively, when you take them to the Embedded Tower on Route 47.
