This was the only GP7 on the SP-SSW roster. It was originally painted in the "Daylight" scheme for passenger service on the Cotton Belt. It is pictured here in Sept. 1961 in Pine Bluff, AR outside of the shops at the then new hump yard.

This unit was purchased by Cotton Belt in 1950, numbered SSW 320, had a steam generator for backup passenger duties, but no dynamic brakes. Originally painted in Daylight colors with yellow handrails, stanchions and grab irons and lettered St.L.S-W. (ST.

SSW 920D built June 1945. Wrecked at Renault, Illinois 11/16/1948. Rebuilt on an F7 frame at EMD first quarter 1949, repainted Black Widow. Renumbered 923. Very likely rebuilt at Pine Bluff Shops with a 16-567AC engine in 1955-56. This unit was sold to EMD in November 1960 as credit on an order of 10 GP20s.
