2023年4月11日 · Anyone knows 29 no dash 5 screws, is this variation registered? OK NOT EXIST 5 SCREWS From 29 no dash evolved to 29-1 changing name for the variation of the extractor rod, insted the number of screws are not considered. Seems that all 29-1 are 3 screws, few of these revolvers are registered, perhaps 29-1 4 screws do not exist. _____

2020年5月23日 · The 29-3E had the hardened yoke, and extended bearing surfaces on the yoke only. 29-4 had the self-adjusting yoke screw and the radiused stud package added. Model 29-5 advice - Smith & Wesson Forum
2022年5月31日 · They were described as both being ultra rare, because of the 5" barrel. The real ultra rare is the 29-5 Classic DX 5" as shown below. These came with 5 interchangeable front sights, a factory test target, one piece rubber grips, and a set of Morado combat grips. Near as I have been able to determine, there were +/-200 of these made.

2025年2月16日 · These loads revealed the weaknesses in the S&W Model 29, whereas Ruger Redhawks and Dan Wesson 44's withstood the beating from these loads. I would not use full power loads with bullets weighing more than 250 grains in a pre-Endurance Package S&W Model 29 or 629. Reducing the powder charge will lessen the beating the revolver takes. _____

2024年12月10日 · Welcome to the Forum! Sorry for your loss, but you definitely benefited from Gramps' great taste in firearms. My 4" blued Model 29-2 (N464411) is from the same 1977 time period, and it's one of my favorites. I do tend to put a set of Hogue rubber stocks on it whenever I take it to the range with .44 Magnum loads.

44 Magnum History
2024年12月17日 · Welcome to the Forum! Condolences on your loss, but congratulations on your inherited revolver. It is indeed a very early 5-screw .44 Magnum (manufactured ca. 1956) with a very nice set of oversized target stocks ("Coke Bottle" stocks)...all in VG condition. S&W changed to model numbers in 1957-58, so the ".44 Magnum" became the "Model 29".
