There are two types of flag days, namely Territory-wide Flag Days (TWFDs) and Regional Flag Days (RFDs). One organisation is permitted to conduct territory-wide flag sale for TWFDs, while three organisations are permitted to conduct regional flag sale, each in Hong Kong Island region, Kowloon region or the New Territories region, on the same RFD.

2022年4月29日 · The Social Welfare Department (SWD) reminds charitable organisations wishing to hold flag days from April 2023 to March 2024 that the deadline for submitting applications is 6pm on May 12 this year. The application form for flag days together with the explanatory notes can be downloaded from the SWD's website at www.swd.gov.hk.

14 September 2024 (Sat) Flag Day (Kowloon Region) Public Subscription Permit of SWD: FD/R041/2024 We would like to invite your participation in flag selling volunteer and donation support. All the donations will go to the in-prison and aftercare ministries after deductions of expenditures from this event.

The Permittee is required to submit information on the design of money collection bags to be used and flags to be sold on the flag day to SWD at least four months prior to the allocated flag day.
