SWM is a new company built on the foundations left behind when KTM purchased Husqvarna in 2013. Despite all that, the SWM has a sweet motor. It’s torquey, smooth and easy to use. It’s fairly powerful, too. The RE500 has a little more power on top than a current Yamaha WR450F or a Honda CRF450R.

The SWM RS300 might not be a cutting-edge dirt bike anymore, but it is a legitimate dirt bike and can carry a legitimate license plate. You can’t get any dual-sport bike that approaches this level of competency for this price. And then there’s the fact that we loved the Italian Husky four-strokes back in the day. So did a lot of other people.

2023年12月11日 · Lightish feeling, nimble, more accurate handing, better suspension, better brakes. The uncorked DRZ motors power is better. The SWM will be really good uncorked, I have had this model husky in the past and they can be quite fast. The SWM has the same close ratio trans as the husky and as such even being a 6 speed is not fun faster than about 50mph.

The SWM is a legitimate street-legal dirt bike, just not as hardcore as ones like the Beta 500RR-S and the KTM 500EXC. Old-school dual-sport bikes like the Honda XR650L and Suzuki DRZ400S are at the other end of the spectrum, with dirt capability as a secondary concern.
