2021年7月2日 · The sabot is the weak spot in consistency and full bore bullets can give you much better accuracy (IMO). I have a couple Hankins bore sizers for my muzzleloaders (.45 and .50) and can get crazy good groups with full size bullets.

2017年1月20日 · I shoot the Powerbelts in my Remington inline and they shoot real well and kill deer just fine. I don't push the range and I think that past 150 yards, most conicals-either sabot, or bore size-become problematic. There are some, now, that are stretching the ranges, but that is a more specialized bullet/rifle combo.

2020年4月6日 · Blackhorn is by far the cleanest running powder I’ve tried and currently use it. It seems to me that you should shoot .54 cal being that’s what the rifle requires. I was told by a coworker that one loaded.270wsm in a .300wsm and was way off target. So I assume your smaller caliber bullet would give you less than an accurate results.

2014年6月16日 · Powerbelts have poor terminal performance sometimes, and are way over priced for a lead bullet. Try the PT Gold bullets made sold by Harvester. You can by them in bulk of 50 with the sabots for around $30.

2009年10月3日 · I shoot an older Optima and use the black crush-rib sabot from that company. They sell a number of sabots for the 50 cal, but this one works best for me. MOST CRITICAL is the use of a "Spin-Jag" and centering the bullet before seating it. After I started using the spin-jag, my groups tightened up considerably.

What is your favorite powder/bullet combo for muzzleloader hunting elk? I shoot a CVA Accura V2 open sights. My set up for mule deer is a 100gr of IMR White Hot pellets with a 250gr Barnes Expander MZ .50 sabot bullet.
