The Rat is the main antagonist of New Years clean up and the return of the rat. The rat is a brown with dark brown eyebrows. In New Years Clean Up, he tricks Sagwa into stealing food, so Sagwa chases him out.

The Magistrate is horrified to find the presence of rats in the palace. Sagwa finds a rat, who tricks her into repeatedly catching him. It results in her getting an inflated reputation, but she realizes he's a cheat and drives him out.
