Simply put, as per salvage convention Salvor does a work to salvage the property and he gets a reward / Compensation for his efforts to save the property.

This SCOPIC clause is supplementary to any Lloyd’s Form Salvage Agreement “No Cure - No Pay” (“Main Agreement”) which incorporates the provisions of Article 14 of the International Convention on Salvage 1989 (“Article 14”). The definitions in the Main Agreement are incorporated into this SCOPIC clause.
SCOPIC remuneration shall include prevention of pollution as well as the removal of pollution in the immediate vicinity if it is necessary for the execution of the salvage (clause 14)
