The Samish Island Community Center’s (SICC) mission is to encourage community development and interaction through educational and social activities among islanders. To that end, it also maintains the community center property as the primary place to gather.

Samish Island is a residential island community in Skagit County, Washington, between Anacortes and Chuckanut Drive. It has limited services and small businesses. There is no “island center” or town with coffee shops, small shops, or other social places.

1908 – Samish Island was a real island in the early century, separated from the mainland by the South Fork of the Samish River. A channel about 1/4 mile wide connected Alice Bay on the East to Padilla Bay on the West.

For countless ages, our Island lay quietly in the mouth of the Samish River. Shaped like a great fish, its open mouth headed upstream and its great tail stretched to the west. If you have visited the Island recently you will question the use of the term island.

Samish Island Arts Festival: Join your neighbors at the Samish Island Community Center on the last Saturday of July, as you stroll through gallery booths of some of the Island and region’s best creative arts. This festival is the largest event held at the Community Center each year.

Samish Island Acres-Community Garden! Our organic crops are flourishing, volunteers are welcome to help and produce is delivered weekly to the Skagit Food Distribution Center, providing food to fourteen food banks in Skagit County. Our workdays are Thursday. If you have extra produce from your home garden, we are happy to deliver it for you.
