Sang-Mook Lee is a marine geophysicist interested in the study of active tectonics and geodynamic of problems on a global scale. He been involved in many seagoing scientific cruises until 2006 when he became quadriplegic as a result of car accident.

Sang-Mook Lee is an Associate Professor at the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Seoul National University, Korea where he specializes in Marine Geology and Geophysics. He also heads the Undergraduate Interdisciplinary Program in Computational Sciences and the graduate program in Computational Science and Technology.
