Obviously Saruman's tragic flaw is his need for power and thus his thirst for the ring. 2013年1月7日 · Actually, by the time of the Hobbit, Saruman finally agrees to attack Dol Guldur.I can't remember off the top of my head, but Saruman had been "corrupted" by at least the year 2850 or so; the time when Saruman vetoes an attack on Dol Guldur in spite of Gandalf is at least a hundred years before 2941 (the year of the Hobbit; the movie conflates the two times).
