The dachshund, also known as the “wiener dog,” or “sausage dog,” is a short-legged badger hunter from Germany. This lovable little dog comes in two sizes and three coat types, adding to their appeal.

All three types are known for their long backs and short muscular legs, which explains the unflattering nicknames "sausage hound" or "hot dog."
