This Model 40 Savage .22 Hornet is an excellent rifle, at an excellent price. The Hornet can easily handle ninety percent of my varmint hunting needs, and costs just a few cents per shot to shoot.

2017年1月12日 · Finally got my Savage Model 40 single shot 22 Hornet. It's the thumbhole stocked version and was new old stock from a reseller offering it on GunBroker. This model was discontinued a few years ago and replaced with the Model 25 repeater.

I've since put it in a factory (Boyds) standard stock of the same color. Like you I much prefer single shots. 2006年4月19日 · I have a Model 40 and I have been very pleased with it for the short time i've had it. The fit and finish is typical Savage. I shoot Hornady 35gr ballistic tips, and shot a five shot group with four shots touching each other at a hundred yards.
