Schipluiden is a village in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. It is the seat of the council of the municipality of Midden-Delfland . The village was founded relatively late in the 15th century and evolved around the Keenenburg castle, which no longer exists.

Schipluiden is een plaats in de Nederlandse gemeente Midden-Delfland (provincie Zuid-Holland). De naam wordt voor de eerste keer genoemd halverwege de twaalfde eeuw. Het is afgeleid van het riviertje de Leede, dat bij Schipluiden bevaarbaar werd. Meerdere plaatsnamen in de omgeving verwijzen naar de Leede.

Schipluiden est un village situé dans la commune néerlandaise de Midden-Delfland, dans la province de la Hollande-Méridionale. Le 1 er janvier 2009, le village comptait 4 536 habitants. Schipluiden est traversé par le canal de Flardingue.

Schipluiden is ontstaan uit het grondgebied van zeven heerlijkheden: Dorp, St. Maartensrecht, ‘t Woudt, Groeneveld, Hof van Delft, Hodenpijl en Zouteveen. Deze hadden ieder afzonderlijk een "gemeenteraad", bestaande uit Schout en Schepenen.
