2017年4月5日 · Curious as to why Scott 340B receivers are sold for substantially less than other similar Scott products. Assuming quality and design is similar to integrated amps and other receivers of the period,I am not seeing why they are basically half of the price.

2014年8月14日 · I have had a lot of the Scott receivers over the years, mostly the domestically built ones. First one I had was a 342, back in the mid 70's It powered a pair of big Wharfedale speakers. As with all the Scotts, it had a wonderfully sensitive tuner. For about 30 years I didn't have another Scott until I got a 340B at a garage sale for $10

2013年7月28日 · My two Scott amps are both 7591's. The 299C really cranks and sounds excellent. My 340B comes close, it has smaller output transformers than the 299C. I also have a 130 pre which when working properly sounds excellent but I have to finish restoring it. All my Scotts including the 130 pre have a similar sound.

2010年5月10日 · Actually the 340B is easier to work on than the Scott 299C, it's a much larger chassie and it's thicker. It also runs cooler than a 299C. My 340B has been very dependable. I've done the usual restoration work these require, It ran well stock but I didn't want to push my luck.

2012年9月15日 · My Scott 340b was working flawlessly on the phono stage. i decided to listen to the radio and upon switching the input over to FM, then back to phono, a hum in one channel developed. it is present with the volume down and increases as the volume is raised. It also increases when I touch the two preamp 12AX7's on that channel.
