The Sd.Kfz. 250 (German: Sonderkraftfahrzeug 250; 'special motor vehicle') was a light armoured half-track, very similar in appearance to the larger Hanomag-designed Sd.Kfz. 251, and built by the DEMAG firm, for use by Nazi Germany in World War II. Most variants were open-topped and had a single access door in the rear.

The Sd.Kfz.250 was reliable, had excellent cross-country capabilities and offered a good protection against small arms fire and shrapnel, but was costly to manufacture and cramped inside. It was nevertheless produced in increasing quantities by 1944 (thanks to the simplified “Neu art”), and used until the capitulation.

2024年2月12日 · The Sd.Kfz.250’s tracked suspension consisted of four overlapping and interleaved double road wheels. These were mounted on swing arms sprung by torsion bars. The suspension was powered by a front-mounted drive sprocket and a rear-positioned idler.

The Sd.Kfz. 250 was used for the first time during the French campaign, the Sd.Kfz. 250 was made in large numbers, and was found at all German theatres of war.

2023年7月5日 · The Sd.Kfz. 250 was a German light and armored halftrack developed from 1939 and the personnel carrier was used by the Wehrmacht from 1941. It was a supplement to the larger Hanomag Sd.Kfz. 251 halftrack. Developed and manufactured by Demag it was used throughout the war.

Four different variants with different radio equipment were made of the leichter Funkpanzerwagen (Sd. Kfz. 250/3) – a small armoured radio vehicle. The conspicuous roof antenna was used until 1942. The illustrated vehicle had the Panzeraufbau Sd. Kfz. 250/Z.

Therefore, Böhler received a contract for 400 armoured superstructures Panzeraufbau Sd. Kfz. 250/Z – which widely corresponded to the armoured superstructure of the Sd. Kfz. 253 – on 17th February 1941.
