1976年1月1日 · The Raman and infra-red spectra of the SeO2F- ion have been re-interpreted with the aid of the Raman spectrum of the isoelectronic BrO 2F. A low Se-F stretching frequency was found, which is attributed to a large ionic character in this bond and possibly some F- bridging between the SeO2F- anions.

The diffusion controlled polymerisation of the monomer in the matrix, to the dimer and to higher aggregates, is also observed using Raman spectroscopy. Additional evidence for the vibrational and stereochemical assignments for the (SeO 2 ) 2 molecule is obtained by normal coordinate calculations for four possible symmetries of the dimer.
